UW School of Medicine 1 & 2

World-Leading Research

Vulcan Real Estate and UW School of Medicine collaborated to develop a South Lake Union research campus for the university, furthering the region’s standing as a world-class biotechnology hub. Phase 1 is the adaptive reuse of the former Washington Natural Gas “Blue Flame” office into a 105,000-square-foot research and development laboratory. Phase 2 adds 256,000-square-feet of office and laboratory space in two buildings. The first two phases comprise three buildings on a full city block and house 1,250 UW researchers and employees.
