Celebrating Ingenuity
Named after the world’s first programmer, Augusta Ada Byron, Augusta Apartments is a 209-unit residential property overlooking Portage Bay. Built on the University District site where Microsoft’s co-founders learned to code, the design team set out to create an apartment community that would provide comfort, convenience, and cutting-edge amenities, all while embracing and celebrating the site’s history.
The design includes a variety of floorplans and unit types to appeal to a range of residents, from individual students and professionals, to couples and families seeking larger, three bedroom units. Amenities include a top-floor deck, gathering spaces, a basketball court and gym, and a demonstration kitchen. The interior design and artwork make references to computing, with local artwork and technology motifs incorporated throughout, tying into the University’s goal to position the U-District submarket as an innovation district.
