Expanding Amazon's Urban Campus
At the intersection of Westlake and Mercer in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood, Amazon Phase 6 is the first phase of a 1 million square foot urban campus expansion for Amazon. The project features a modern design with 400,000 square feet in two buildings joined by a skybridge. The covered mid-block pedestrian walkway provides weather protection and creates an outdoor oasis with a water feature, public seating, restaurants, and retail. The publicly accessible plaza is enhanced by “There is Another Sky,” an art installation by artist Spencer Finch that creates a colorful canopy above. Adjacent to a Seattle Streetcar stop, and in close proximity to multiple bus lines including RapidRide, Amazon Phase 6 enjoys convenient access to public transit.

Vulcan Converts Dark Alley to Work of Art on Amazon Campus
The sky is brighter in what was once a dark alley in Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood. The piece by Spencer Finch is called "There is Another Sky" and is meant to leverage "the concept of a forest canopy and creates a lively open-air experience within an urban setting," according to a press release from Vulcan. The city partnered with Vulcan to commission the work.
